DHL Philippines announces 4.9% price increase

International services provider DHL Express on Monday announced upward adjustments in its prices starting next year, with the average increases in the Philippines estimated at 4.9%.

In an advisory, DHL Express said the price adjustments take into consideration inflation and currency dynamics, along with administrative costs on regulatory and security measures.

The upward adjustments will take effect on January 1, 2022 in all of over 220 countries and territories the firm operates in, and will vary from country to country depending on local conditions.

The central bank expects this year’s inflation to clock in at 4.4%, above its target range of 2% to 4%. Latest data available from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) indicates that inflation accelerated to 4.9% in August, the highest in over a year.

“We are always striving to deliver excellence to our customers and thus are investing regularly to expand and enhance our services while ensuring that their business can continue even in times of global crises,” DHL Express Philippines country manager Nurhayati Abdullah said.

“With the annual price adjustment, we are able to invest in our infrastructure and technology to ensure resilient, sustainable, and best-in-class customer solutions,” she added.

Abdullah said investments include state-of-the-art aircraft and vehicles, along with the expansion of hubs and gateways to increase capacity in line with the growth of demand for the fastest possible cross-border shipping.—AOL, GMA News
