Fuel prices seen to go up anew next week

After a round of price hikes, oil companies are expected to increase anew the retail prices of petroleum products in the coming week, according to projections by Unioil Petroleum Philippines.

In its fuel price forecast for September 21 to 27 trading week, Unioil said the price per liter of gasoline may go up by P0.80 to P0.90.

Diesel prices, likewise, may increase by P0.80 to P0.90 per liter.

Effective September 14, fuel firms implemented a price increase of P0.35 to P0.40 per liter for gasoline and P0.35 per liter hike for diesel.

Oil companies usually announce price adjustments every Monday, to be implemented on the following day.

Gasoline prices range from P47.85 to P61.10 per liter, while diesel prices range between P38.45 and P47.75 per liter.

Year-to-date adjustments stand at a total net increase of P13.75 per liter for gasoline and P11.25 per liter for diesel, according to latest data from the Department of Energy. -MDM, GMA News
