Manila Water announces 6-hour water interruption in Rizal

Over 17,000 customers of the Manila Water Company Inc. in Rizal will experience a six-hour service interruption starting Tuesday evening, as the east zone concessionaire conducts maintenance activities.

In an advisory, Manila Water said the interruption will affect more than 17,322 households, commercial, and business establishments in 11 barangays in Angono, Binangonan, and Taytay in Rizal.

The interruption will start at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, and will last until 4 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Manila Water said residents of the said barangays should store enough water to supply their needs during the interruption period, and should wait for a few minutes for flushing before using the water from their taps once services are restored.

Manila Water is the east zone concessionaire which services 23 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila and Rizal.

These include Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and parts of Quezon City and Manila. The towns of Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, Tanay, Taytay, Teresa, San Mateo, and Antipolo in the province of Rizal are also part of the East Zone.

Shares in Manila Water closed Tuesday at P18.48 apiece, up by 24 centavos of 1.32% from Monday’s finish of P18.24.—AOL, GMA News
