A total of 45,649 public and private establishments have been issued safety seal certifications nationwide, the Department of the Interior and Local Government said on Monday.

At the Laging Handa briefing, DILG spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya  added that 9,794 safety seal applications were denied.

“Madami-dami na po ang nag-apply dito. 86,159 establishments have applied. Out of this number, 45,649 ay naaprubahan po ng iba’t-ibang government agencies,” he said.

(Many establishments applied. At least 86,159 establishments have applied. Out of this number, 45,649 have been approved by different government agencies)

The safety seal indicates that an establishment adheres to minimum public health standards against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Establishments with safety seals are allowed to use more of their capacity.

In the National Capital Region, a total of 12,652 safety seals have been issued.

Establishments seeking to apply for a safety seal must adopt the StaySafe.PH or any other local government unit-mandated digital contact tracing application.

They also have to implement the minimum health standards against the spread of the coronavirus. — RSJ, GMA News
