“We continue to experience challenges in sustaining full operations because an increasing number of our frontline and support personnel are unable to report for work due to precautionary quarantine or self-isolation requirements,” PAL said in its advisory.
“This is a very fluid situation: We may need to cancel more flights or make other operational adjustments in the coming days. Please continue to check flight status for any changes in your flight schedule,” it added.
Affected passengers can choose to either convert their tickets to travel credits; rebook or reroute their tickets within 60 days; or refund their ticket without penalties excluding the ticketing service charge.
The carrier said it is also redirecting more personnel and resources to handle MyPAL Request Hub transactions where they are most needed to help serve more passengers.
“Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work with you and with our partner agents, government authorities and our PAL teams worldwide to make the best of a very challenging situation,” it said.
The Philippines on Sunday recorded a record-high daily tally of 28,707 COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s active cases to 128,114. The total caseload now stands at 2.965 million, including 2.785 million recoveries and 52,150 deaths.
The Alert Level 3 status has been raised in Metro Manila, which is currently set to last until Saturday, January 15, 2022. The same status is implemented in 14 cities and provinces. — RSJ, GMA News
