
Motorists will have to pay higher for petroleum products starting Tuesday, as oil firms announced a big-time price hike following the five straight weeks of rollbacks.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex) and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said they will increase prices per liter of gasoline by P1.60, diesel by P1.35, and kerosene by 1.20.
Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, for all the firms except for Caltex which will implement the adjustments at 12:01 a.m., and Cleanfuel at 4:01 p.m. the same day.
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.
Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) show that year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of P15.70 per liter for gasoline, P13.05 per liter for diesel, and P10.49 per liter for kerosene as of December 7, 2021. — RSJ, GMA News
