Cebu Pacific cancels more flights as some staff under quarantine

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific on Thursday announced the cancellation of several domestic flights as it anticipates fewer manpower amid the rise in COVID-19 cases.

In an advisory, the airline said it is reviewing its network schedule and closely monitoring manpower levels with employees currently in quarantine.

To prevent last minute cancellations due to unavailability of crew and ground personnel, Cebu Pacific said it is preemptively canceling the following flights from January 7 to 10, 2022, and transferring passengers on other available flights on the same day:

“Passengers affected by the cancellations have been informed of their new flight schedules through the contact details provided in their booking,” it said.

Affected passengers may choose to rebook for travel within 60 days at no additional cost, store the amount of their fare in a virtual wallet valid for two years, or seek refund which may take up to two months from the date of request. 

Passengers who wish to voluntarily postpone their travel plans may conveniently cancel up to two hours before their scheduled time of departure and select their preferred option through Cebu Pacific website’s manage booking portal, the airline said.—LDF, GMA News
