Budget carrier Cebu Pacific on Friday resumed its direct flights from Cebu to Singapore.
In a statement, the airline said it will be operating the Cebu-Singapore route thrice weekly, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Cebu Pacific said its flight 5J 547 departs from the Mactan Cebu International Airport Terminal 2 at 11:05 p.m. and arrives at Changi International Airport at 3 a.m. the following day.
Its return flight, 5J 548, with flights every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, is scheduled to leave Singapore at 4 a.m. and will arrive in Cebu at 8:05 a.m.
The airline said the direct flight enables passengers from 22 other domestic destinations—such as Clark, Davao, Dumaguete, Tacloban, and Zamboanga, among others—to fly to Singapore via Cebu.
“We are excited to bring this route back to allow more passengers from Cebu and the rest of our network, especially those in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, to fly internationally without passing through Manila,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific chief commercial officer.
“This route resumption is part of our continuous efforts to restore our pre-pandemic systemwide capacity.”
In addition to Singapore, the airline resumed flights to Seoul from its Cebu hub earlier this month.
Fully vaccinated guests entering Singapore are not required to submit a pre-departure COVID-19 test and are not required to undergo quarantine upon arrival, according to Cebu Pacific.
Passengers must instead present their proof of full vaccination (VaxCertPH or BOQ Yellow Card) and fill out a Singapore Arrival card three days before arrival, the airline said.
Coming home to Cebu, boosted Filipinos no longer need to take a COVID test pre-departure, it added. —VBL, GMA News
