The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) over the weekend announced a key change in leadership, with its first woman President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The BCDA said career executive Aileen Anunciacion Zosa took her oath of office as the new PCEO of the agency before President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Prior to her appointment, Zosa served as the executive vice president of the BCDA, acting as chief operating officer and in tandem with the agency’s president and CEO.
She also earlier worked in several public sector agencies such as the Senate, the Office of the President, and the Commission on Audit (COA).
The BCDA said Zosa will continue the infrastructure program of the previous administration focused mainly on the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
“For the development of our properties, we have introduced three major components that will distinguish our properties from the pack and make our projects more globally competitive,” she said in an emailed statement.
“These are sustainability, gender diversity and gender sensitivity, as well as smart components. Out projects should embed those three important elements,” she added.
The BCDA is mandated to help strengthen the AFP, while building cities. It also engaged in public-private partnerships to boost public infrastructure such as tollways, airports, seaports, and major real estate developments.
“I hope that my experiences and perspective as a career executive and as a woman continue to bring a different lens on approaching opportunities and challenges for BCDA,” Zosa said. — DVM, GMA News
